Overview
Griffin Structures served as the Construction Manager in the renovation of this community-focused facility which aimed to bring the building up to code, transforming it into a useable, flexible, and modern community center. Adjacent to the library, this 11,000 SF facility boasts a flexible large auditorium / banquet room with performance stage to accommodate large gatherings up to 300 people with total capacity for up to 500 visitors. Guests can also enjoy two meeting rooms with their own serving bar, as well as a historic, elegant Fireside Room for smaller, intimate gatherings. With an industrial catering, warming, and serving kitchen, state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment, and related amenities, the San Marino Community Center is a perfect destination for a variety of event types.
This project incorporated the protection of existing elements of the former San Marino Center opened in 1952, including the historical preservation of many unique site features, as well as consistent and proactive communication with the community to minimize construction activities.
