Overview
Griffin Structures provided Construction Management services for the Roberts Pool Complex project located within the lush 87 acre Roberts Regional Recreation Area in Oakland, California. Originally built in 1952 to serve the greater Oakland community, the original pool and associated support structures were outdated and in need of replacement.
The improved swim facility includes a new pool that more than doubles the water surface area from 2,700 SF to 5,600 SF with six competition lanes, two cool-down lanes and significantly expanded shallow end to accommodate more recreational swimmers. New structures include a 2,600 SF changing building and 1,400 SF pump / storage building.
Significant site improvements include expanded public pool deck, picnic lawn, new landscaped areas populated with native drought resistant plantings, park user seating, site lighting, accessible electric vehicle parking and site utilities. Future project phases will include the incorporation of parking lot photovoltaic canopies and additional electric vehicle charging stations.
