Tustin Transitional Homeless Shelter

This navigational shelter facility serves male, female and family homeless populations. The shelter also provides coordination for comprehensive services to all residents.

Griffin provided program and construction management services for the planning, design and construction of this transitional housing facility that provides 80 beds for the homeless community. This four month, fast-track project encompassed the site development of a former military institution.

The modular facility encompasses four dormitories which serve male, female and family homeless populations. Each dormitory is also equipped with kennels for pets. Additional modular buildings feature community, kitchen, and dining spaces as well as two integrated restroom/shower facilities. The exterior plaza space serves as a community gathering area for the campus and connects directly to the administration building housing the site operator.

Site work included installation of dry and wet utilities, as well as patching where necessary and a final slurry seal coat.

This site is designed to provide the support for transitional housing and the security necessary for surrounding neighborhoods given that this facility is based on a referral-only program.
