Overview
Griffin Structures is currently representing the City’s interest at each stage of the process and oversee the selection of a Design-Build team, the contract scope, budget, design process, development of construction plans, and construction of the design, planning, and development process for a mixed-use project in downtown Santa Cruz.
The City of Santa Cruz is envisioning that Downtown Santa Cruz will become housing-focused featuring a mixed-use business district that is accessible to everyone. Best practices in urban design will create a pedestrian-centered downtown that prioritizes equity, inclusion and environment and preserves the eclectic culture that is unique to Santa Cruz.
The city is currently exploring options for the project including:
- A modern library with resources for all;
- Housing on the upper floors, with a minimum of 50 Affordable units; and
- Parking consolidated into a structure with no more than 400 parking spaces.
