Overview
The Santa Cruz County Esperanza Adelante Youth Crisis Center is a critical facility delivering two essential programs for youth in crisis. Griffin Structures served as Program and Construction Manager, acting as an extension of County staff to guide planning, design, and construction while ensuring schedule, budget, and quality objectives were achieved. The project repurposes an existing office building in a centrally located, freeway-accessible site to provide timely, efficient care.
The first floor is organized into two key components: administrative and clinical spaces for Behavioral Health Services, including individual and group therapy rooms, and a Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) offering short-term, intensive care with a 23:59-hour hold. The second floor houses a voluntary 12-day inpatient program, providing 24/7 treatment, assessment, and support in a secure, therapeutic environment designed to stabilize and advance long-term recovery.
