Santa Ana Main Library Renovation & Public Libraries Projects

"The idea is really to engage kids and families and parents in active learning because that’s really what the library is about now, and the renovation will allow us to do even more of that."

Brian Sternberg, Library Services Director, City of Santa Ana

Griffin Structures is currently serving the City of Santa Ana in providing Construction Management services as it embarks on the renovation of its local libraries, as well as the addition of new branches to service more residents.

Main Library Renovation

Originally built in 1960, the Main Library Renovation intends to bring back much of the building’s original design and layout, but will also add an interactive children’s learning area, as well as repairs to library MEP infrastructure and restoration of its iconic marble exterior.

Newhope Library Renovation

The Newhope Library, located in the city’s westside, will also receive significant improvements. The branch will receive new reading areas, study spaces, a modernized outdoor patio, updated technology and a new innovation center that will provide STEM learning opportunities.

Delhi Center Library Branch

This new library branch will feature a glass storefront-like entrance, modern furniture and a “knowledge bar” where staff can assist residents. The project will also include the construction of an outdoor patio space for library programs, events and activities for people of all ages.

Outdoor Library at Jerome Park

Jerome Park will also become home to a new, outdoor library. Like traditional libraries, residents will be able to rent books and movies, access wifi and explore outdoor learning areas. The space will feature a library kiosk that will be stocked with materials for library-card holders to choose from.
