Overview
Griffin Structures served as Program and Construction Manager for the City of Piedmont’s new Community Pool and Aquatic Center, representing one of the City’s first major civic vertical construction projects in generations and a landmark community investment.
The new year-round aquatic facility was designed to support competitive athletics, instruction, recreation, and wellness for users of all ages through a flexible dual-pool configuration totaling approximately 13,500 SF of water surface. The centerpiece competition pool featured a 27-meter by 25-yard layout with 12 lap lanes, a diving well, and configurable aquatic space to support swim competition, water polo, lap swimming, camps, and concurrent programming. Complementing the facility was a warm-water activity pool with zero-depth entry and dedicated instructional lanes for lessons, fitness, and recreational use.
Supporting amenities included a two-story bathhouse with locker rooms, concessions, multipurpose and community gathering spaces, administrative areas, rooftop viewing and event space with Bay views, and integrated sustainable systems that created one of California’s first all-electric municipal aquatic facilities.
