Half Moon Bay John L. Carter Memorial Park

Once completed, this beloved park will be a community hub for music events and festivals hosted by the City and other users such as the Half Moon Bay Shakespeare Company.

The City of Half Moon Bay is in the process of renovating its iconic Carter Park to create a more actively utilized space by adding improvements to facilitate greater opportunities for performances and day camps.

Neighboring downtown Half Moon Bay, this park hosts recreational theatrical performances, as well as annual festivals. In order to maintain a commitment to the community in respect to this creative space, the City seeks to construct a new outdoor Amphitheatre with terraced seating for up to 440 people which will be supported by a small ancillary storage building.

All new play area, picnic space, restroom and concession buildings will also be incorporated, with park access / ADA improvements, serene looping nature trails, native landscaping, illustrious lighting, and security improvements.
