Griffin Structures served as construction manager for the $12 million expansion of the popular Discovery Cube-Orange County Science Center in Santa Ana. The new facilities enabled the Center to expand its distinctive hands-on experiences for visitors with differing learning styles, whether kinesthetic, auditory or visual.

The 44,000 square foot Discovery Pavilion expansion includes a flexible black box theater, new exhibit space, a full demonstration kitchen, an educators’ resource center, an expanded Launch Pad Science Store, upgraded welcome lobby and ticketing areas, and additional administrative office space. The expansion doubles Discovery Cube’s guest capacity and provides for larger, state-of-the-art exhibits.

Discovery Cube-Orange County programs and interactive features provide a natural extension to school outreach programs and serve as large-scale teaching aids for students, teachers and families, fulfilling the Discovery Science Foundation mission to “inspire and educate young minds through engaging science-based programs and exhibits to create a meaningful impact on the communities they serve.”
