After nearly 40 years at its dated, cramped facility, the City of La Cañada Flintridge seized the opportunity to purchase and renovate the former Sport Chalet corporate headquarters. APWA/Southern California Chapter recently named the community’s new City Hall as Project of the Year in its Buildings category. The $4.8 million remodel provides improved public access; new council chambers also designed for community meetings; efficient, collaborative staff workspaces; and revenue-generating space accommodating Chamber of Commerce offices. The phased project was delivered with no impact to City services and enabled staff to relocate to meet conditions of sale of the former city hall location.
